About
Charlie's Bud is a journal of interiors, colour, light, style and words, published by @charliesbud.
It began as a set of Pinterest boards and grew into an archive viewed millions of times a month. This site gathers that work in one place and adds what a Pin cannot hold: the thinking behind each image, the history of a material or a word, and where to find pieces that bring a look home.
What you'll find
Interiors. Homes, restaurants, bars and public rooms, studied through colour, material and light. Series include Colour Worlds, Light as Material and Social Interior.
Colour. Curated palettes with hex codes, monochrome studies, and essays on how colour shapes architecture.
Style. Personal style, fashion finds, jewellery and seasonal studies in proportion, material and colour.
Art & Words. An Art Glossary of the terms artists and makers use, and a Lexicon of words to keep in your arsenal.
Gift Guides. Seasonal edits that mix independent shops, larger retailers and pieces found along the way.
New series start when an idea earns one, from objects and 3D design to whatever comes after.
The images
Most rooms on this site are concept studies: imagined spaces made to test an idea about colour, material or light. Products in a shopping edit are pieces that bring the look home, and they are described as similar when they are not the exact item.
How the site is funded
Some links earn a small commission when you buy, at no extra cost to you. Not every page has them. Where one does, a note at the top says so. Read the affiliate disclosure.
